Marvel and Google reach a customized AI chip partnership, issuing $12.2 billion in stock warrants to Google BlockBeats News: On August 20th, Marvel Technology submitted a document to the US SEC on August 19th disclosing that the company has expanded its customized semiconductor cooperation with Google. Both parties signed a commercial agreement on July 29th, covering AI inference accelerators, storage controllers, network interface controllers, memory interface controllers, and near memory computing products related to the Google TPU ecosystem. As part of the collaboration, Marvel issued stock warrants to Google on August 18th, allowing it to purchase up to approximately 58.97 million shares of the company's common stock at a price of $206.58 per share, with a total exercise value of approximately $12.2 billion. Among them, about 1.36 million shares will be attributed over time in the first year, while the remaining portion will be attributed in batches based on Google's future procurement of customized products revenue (every $500 million of revenue will be attributed to one batch), up to the fiscal year 2033, corresponding to a potential cumulative revenue ceiling of approximately $120 billion. After the announcement, Marvel's stock price surged by over 11%, while its competitor Broadcom's stock price fell. Analysis suggests that this move strengthens Marvel's position in the field of customized chips for ultra large scale cloud vendors. [Original link]
