There's a widening gap in crypto between what a chain promises on a roadmap and what it actually runs in production. @Itsfloe measured this across NEAR and several major blockchains and protocols. Six dimensions, one recurring finding: the future is already live on NEAR. Parallel sharded execution, stateless validation, native account abstraction, post-quantum keys. Features others have scheduled for 2027+ are already live on NEAR mainnet today. But being early was never the point, and none of this is zero-sum. Each chain has a real center of gravity and its own advantages, from neutrality to  speed to privacy.
