The essence of the SEC's new policy is to allow legal ICOs, enabling quality projects to issue tokens compliantly for fundraising. Unlike the past in the crypto space, where trash projects would get packaged and listed on major exchanges to exploit retail investors, now projects won't start off with a $10 billion FDV. This is a major positive for the crypto space because you can think of it as projects that originally wanted to go public on the U.S. stock market (especially those that might not make it) now directly issuing tokens in the crypto space, giving everyone a chance to participate. It's also a positive for CRCL, as this will greatly expand the use cases for compliant stablecoins. Platforms like HYPE, which are on-chain exchanges, will benefit, as will compliant exchanges like CB and ROBINHOOD. Of course, the most important thing is that this is good news for the eager retail investors in the crypto space. The deep integration between the U.S. stock market and the crypto space is moving forward.
