According to WuShuo, the KITE Foundation stated that their monitoring system detected abnormal transfers of the KITE token on the Ethereum mainnet. After investigation, it was confirmed to be related to a hacker attack. Relevant transfers and cross-chain channels have been suspended, and the incident did not result in any loss of user or project assets.
The team has deployed a new KITE ERC-20 contract with the total token supply unchanged. The old tokens will be migrated at a 1:1 ratio, and addresses controlled by the attacker will be excluded. A snapshot for on-chain token holders was taken at Ethereum mainnet block 25,692,498 (August 6, 2026, 01:05:23 UTC). Eligible tokens will be directly distributed to the original addresses without the need for manual exchange or smart contract authorization.
Exchange users do not need to submit migration requests, as the relevant platforms will coordinate with the KITE team to handle the process. Cross-chain channels will remain suspended until the migration and security verification are completed.
