[Analyst: Japanese Stock Market Falls to Two-Week Low Due to Risk Aversion]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on August 19, driven by risk aversion sentiment, the Nikkei 225 index fell 3.2%, closing at 65,326.42 points, marking the lowest closing price since August 4. StoneX senior market analyst Matt Simpson commented: 'Rising bond yields, higher oil prices, and renewed geopolitical concerns have all dampened investor enthusiasm.' He added: 'The sell-off in tech stocks and semiconductor stocks is particularly notable.' Among the worst-performing stocks in Japan's benchmark index, electronics manufacturer Furukawa Electric fell 14%, storage chip maker Kioxia Holdings dropped 13%, and artificial intelligence giant SoftBank Group declined 10%.
