Renminbi has cycles, and so does the US dollar. If you urgently need RMB, exchange it in batches. If it’s not urgent, there’s no reason to take a loss at this stage. To see 7.2 again, I think at least one or two significant variables need to emerge: For example, US inflation getting out of control again, the Fed turning clearly hawkish again; China’s economy weakening significantly with further easing; worsening US-China trade relations; or a global risk-off scenario leading to funds flocking back to the US dollar.
