[Maya Protocol Attacked, Losses Estimated at $1.7 Million]
Maya Protocol founder AaluxxMyth disclosed that the protocol suffered an attack, resulting in the theft of approximately 20 BTC (around $1.4 million) and other assets (around $300,000). The team has suspended global operations to contain the losses and is working on fixing the vulnerabilities to resume trading. Most of the losses stemmed from extreme slippage leading to arbitrage and pool fees. The team is in communication with relevant parties and plans to recover the funds through measures such as investments via the Aztec Chain. If the 20 BTC are returned to the pool, the price of the CACAO token will recover to $0.115. The team also hopes the attacker will accept the bug bounty and return the funds.
