DIESEL MARGINS SMASH RECORD ABOVE $100
U.S. diesel refining margins have surged above $100 a barrel for the first time, topping a record $102 amid a worsening global supply crunch.
Supply disruptions linked to the U.S.-Iran war, Strait of Hormuz, Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries, Libya and Saudi Arabia are tightening markets.
Meanwhile, U.S. diesel inventories are at their lowest late-August level since 1996, raising fears of higher winter heating costs and renewed inflation.(*Walter Bloomberg)
