The market might still be expecting Trump to TACO soon, maybe.
Late-night Trump news: 'The U.S. is not seeking to extend the memorandum of understanding with Iran.' Oil prices spiked. Just now, he also said: 'There are no negotiations or dialogues ongoing or planned with Iran.'
WTI spiked to 85 and then pulled back. Just as the U.S. stock market opened, the three major indices all dropped, with SanDisk and Micron both falling.
Trump, are you really going to keep being stubborn and escalate military actions? If this turns into a conflict again, oil prices will rise, inflation expectations will rebound, and U.S. stocks will remain under pressure. Plus, weren’t you the one saying oil prices should go down?
My short positions on OKX just went on a rollercoaster ride. If prices spike again tonight, I’ll add a bit more to my position. The funding rates on OKX and BN have been pretty friendly these past couple of days.
Too bad I thought about shorting U.S. stocks during the day but didn’t act on it. But if Micron and a few others keep dropping under pressure, I might consider buying the dip and going long to see what happens.
