Looking at "Korea Retail Leverage Liquidity Flow" Korean retail investors appear to be actively using leverage again, although not to the same extent as in January this year. Leverage activity increased noticeably in late July and again in mid-August. This suggests that Korean retail investors may view the current price level as a highly attractive buying opportunity. Rather than simply accumulating spot positions with lower risk, the data also appears to reflect a willingness to take more aggressive leveraged positions in an attempt to recover previous losses more quickly. Ultimately, this data shows more than just the movement of capital. It also reflects the expectations and sentiment of Korean retail investors toward the current price level.(mignolet)
