Let’s continue talking about Huobi being sanctioned—this timeline is pretty intriguing.
According to media reports on August 13, 2026 (just one day before Binance released their announcement), the two sides had been negotiating twice since March, totaling five months, with negotiations set to end on August 25.
If the negotiations were really going smoothly, why would Binance release an announcement less than half a month before the negotiations ended, and even set the restriction date starting from the 23rd?
Also, the news and the announcement were only one day apart. Could it be that HTX knew they were still going to be sanctioned and also knew Binance was about to release their announcement?
So, did they rush to release a piece of “fake” news before Binance, making it look like negotiations were ongoing and HTX was about to be fine, just to calm users down?
