NASDAQ-listed Zcash treasury company Cypherpunk Technologies (CYPH) has announced the launch of its ZEC mining operations. Its subsidiary, Cypherpunk Mining, has deployed approximately 4.2 GSol/s of Equihash hashrate in the U.S., accounting for about 18% of Zcash's total network hashrate. The company stated that this mining fleet is currently the largest active mining operation on the Zcash network. The mining equipment is funded by a $33.33 million equity deal between Cypherpunk and Winklevoss Capital. Additionally, the company has appointed mining industry expert Kevin Zhang as the head of mining operations. Cypherpunk currently holds 323,394 ZEC, approximately 1.92% of the circulating supply, and plans to continue increasing its holdings through mining and subsequent acquisitions to achieve its goal of owning 5% of ZEC's total supply.
