[Hong Kong SFC Welcomes Financial Regulatory Administration's Announcement Supporting Mainland Insurance Institutions to Invest in Hong Kong ETFs via Stock Connect] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on August 18, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomed the announcement by the National Financial Regulatory Administration today, which actively supports mainland insurance funds participating in the interconnection between mainland and Hong Kong financial markets. It also supports mainland insurance institutions investing in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange through the Stock Connect program. This policy will further expand the options for mainland insurance institutions to allocate overseas assets via Hong Kong, reflecting the Financial Regulatory Administration's support for the continued deepening of financial connectivity between the mainland and Hong Kong. Dr. Julia Leung, Chairperson of the Hong Kong SFC, stated: 'We sincerely thank the Financial Regulatory Administration for its long-standing and steadfast support for the development of Hong Kong's capital markets and the financial interconnectivity between the mainland and Hong Kong. This new policy broadens the diverse channels for mainland insurance funds to allocate overseas assets, demonstrating the nation's determination to deepen high-level financial openness and its support for the continued deepening of financial cooperation between the two regions. We firmly believe that this arrangement will further promote the synergistic development of the capital markets in both regions.' (Hong Kong SFC)
