According to Yonhap News, South Korea's Major Crime Investigation Agency will officially be established in October, with a total staff of 2,874, including 2,567 investigators. It will handle seven types of major cases, including corruption, economic crimes, drugs, and cybercrime. Its Seoul Regional Office will set up a dedicated "Voice Phishing, Financial, and Virtual Asset Crime Joint Investigation Division" to strengthen focused investigations into crypto asset-related financial crimes.
