AI driven enterprise SSD demand surges, with the top five global NAND flash memory companies experiencing a 77% increase in Q2 revenue
On August 18th, according to market research firm TrendForce, the total revenue of the top five global NAND flash memory manufacturers in the second quarter of 2026 reached $68.87 billion, a significant increase of 77% compared to the previous quarter. This was mainly driven by the expansion of enterprise SSD demand driven by AI servers and the rise in contract prices. Samsung Electronics ranked first with a revenue of $23.06 billion, a month on month increase of 70.7%, but its market share slightly declined to 29.3%; SK Hynix (including Solidigm) ranked second with $14.27 billion, a month on month increase of 89.5%, and its market share rose to 18.2%; Micron recorded a revenue of $11.85 billion with a highest growth rate of 99.2%, and its market share rose to 15.1%, surpassing Kaixia to rank third; Kaixia's revenue was 10.72 billion US dollars, an increase of 79.9%; SanDisk's lowest growth rate was 50.7%, and its market share dropped to 11.4%. TrendForce predicts that the demand for enterprise grade SSDs in AI servers will remain strong in the third quarter, but major manufacturers will shift their capital expenditure focus to DRAM and HBM, and the supply of NAND will be limited. The upward trend in prices is expected to continue.
