**[Cursor Starts Competing with GitHub: Origin Officially Opens Beta]** According to monitoring by Beating, Cursor has officially launched the early Beta of its code hosting platform, Origin, and started rolling it out to all paid plans. Users can directly host repositories, manage PRs, and browse code on Cursor, while Agents can also directly modify code and push branches. Origin supports syncing with existing GitHub repositories and PRs, with comments also syncing bidirectionally. Projects imported from GitHub will still treat GitHub as the primary repository, so there’s no need to migrate immediately. In fact, Origin was accidentally exposed last week. Some users gained early access, and Cursor later admitted it was an unintended release and subsequently closed access. Now, it has officially gone live, with more code hosting features tailored for Agents to be added in the future. Interestingly, about three and a half hours after Origin’s release, GitHub experienced a large-scale outage on the same day. This timing makes Cursor’s move to "compete with GitHub" particularly fitting. [Original Link]
