US 30-YEAR YIELD HITS 2007 HIGH
The 30-year Treasury yield climbed to 5.29%, its highest since 2007, as investors worry about rising U.S. debt, heavy bond issuance and persistent inflation.
AI-related corporate borrowing and weaker demand for long-term bonds are adding pressure.
The selloff continues despite softer jobs, inflation and retail data reducing near-term Fed hike expectations.
Meanwhile, the yield curve is steepening as long-term yields rise while short-term yields fall.(*Walter Bloomberg)
