Hardware wallet security is having a rough month. SafePal just disclosed a breach exposing order info (names, addresses, phone numbers, purchases) for ~39,798 customers. It follows Trezor's shipping partner breach (13,689 customers, Aug 13) and the Coldcard RNG exploit that drained $100M+ in BTC in July. Seed phrases and private keys were not compromised in the SafePal or Trezor incidents. But exposed order data means a higher risk of targeted phishing.
