[UK Agricultural Robotics Startup Versatile RobotX Announces Over €1.17 Million in Funding] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on August 17, UK agricultural robotics startup Versatile RobotX announced it had secured over €1.17 million (approximately £1 million) in funding. The funding sources include the British Design Fund (BDF), the second round of the Innovate UK Growth Catalyst Investor Partnership Program, and a grant from the Defra Agricultural Innovation Program. The company was co-founded in July 2024 by University of Essex Professor Klaus McDonald-Maier and Dr. Vishwanathan Mohan. Its two core products—an automated fruit and vegetable picking robot and a hydroponic robot harvester—have already undergone field validation at renowned UK farms such as Wilkin & Sons.
