Everyone instantly rotated over, started chasing it and sent it to around $5M, while BASECAT got sold off and dipped under 500k mc. That gave anyone paying attention behind the scenes plenty of time to accumulate cheaper supply without having to chase the chart. Fast forward and that other cat is basically dead, while BASECAT is still sitting just under $2M. But here’s what keeps me interested: Cobie + @baseapp keep interacting with BASECAT memes, and the Base crew has basically been feeding this thing attention nonstop. Maybe it’s all coincidence. Or maybe they learned from their past mistakes and realized the best way to build something properly is to let the noise die down, get positioned, and only then turn the attention back on. I’ve been doing this shit for almost 10 years. I’ve seen enough narratives come and go to know that sometimes the best trades don’t make sense until after the move already happened. Maybe I’m right, maybe I’m completely wrong. But my gut is screaming at me on this one. And if I’m right about what Base is doing here… it’s game over.(CTM)
