Why is it so hard for memes to spark interest nowadays? The current environment doesn’t encourage projects to go further. The paths now are basically just two: First: Set up the game. The whales buy first, then the whales’ friends buy, then KOLs buy, then the KOLs’ clueless followers buy. Everyone else either refuses to buy or starts FUDing. Second: Play word games. Teams split up the flow, wait for someone to stabilize the market, wait for external forces. If there’s external hype, it moves forward a bit; if not, it goes to zero. A good meme should be instantly understandable at first glance. Unlike now, where something pops up and you have to dig through all kinds of records to figure out which wordplay it’s based on, guess who might respond to it, and calculate the odds of it catching on. Sometimes, before you even finish researching, it’s already gone to zero.
