[JPMorgan Q2 Increases Holdings in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs: IBIT Holdings Up 25%, ETHA Holdings Surge Over 3x]
BlockBeats News, August 14, JPMorgan's latest 13F filing submitted to the U.S. SEC shows that as of June 30, it held approximately 10.4 million shares of BlackRock's IBIT, an increase of about 25% compared to approximately 8.3 million shares in the first quarter, with disclosed holdings valued at approximately $356 million. During the same period, its holdings in BlackRock's ETHA increased from approximately 267,000 shares to about 1.17 million shares, a surge of over 3x, with the scale of holdings exceeding four times the previous level.
The filing also disclosed for the first time a small amount of XRP investment product holdings, including 181 shares of Grayscale XRP products and 113 shares of Bitwise XRP ETF. PrimeXBT senior market analyst Jonatan Randin pointed out that the 13F filing covers 18 investment management entities under JPMorgan, and some holdings may be related to client transactions or inventory management. Additionally, the 13F does not disclose short positions, so it is not possible to determine JPMorgan's net exposure or directional view on BTC and ETH solely based on these long positions.
Furthermore, JPMorgan reduced its holdings in several Bitcoin mining companies during the second quarter. Randin stated that as some mining companies expand into AI and high-performance computing, their role as proxies for Bitcoin price movements is also weakening. [Original Link]
