Today is the 91st Anniversary of Social Security! Social Security is a cornerstone of American retirement, supporting nearly 70 million Americans, providing critical retirement security, and helping lift millions of seniors, disabled people and children out of poverty. Republicans have repeatedly sought to undermine this critical program with threats of privatization, funding cuts, false claims of fraud, and more. Mark my words: We will never let them cut Social Security. I will always fight to protect Social Security for our seniors and for future generations who are paying in and deserve to reap the benefits they earned.(Chuck Schumer)
