**[Netanyahu's Election Campaign in Trouble, Trump Yet to Voice Support]**
BlockBeats News, August 14, according to Axios, two weeks ago, during a meeting in the Oval Office between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and former U.S. President Trump, Trump asked Netanyahu about his polling numbers ahead of the October 27 election. Netanyahu paused in silence. Then, one of his advisors interjected, "Mr. President, he is leading." However, Netanyahu's lead is not significant. Despite repeated inquiries from reporters, Trump has yet to offer the support Netanyahu is hoping for. Trump could still change his mind, but with only 75 days left until the election, time is running out for Netanyahu.
Netanyahu's current ruling coalition is polling at only 49 to 53 seats—far below the 68 seats it currently holds and short of the 61 seats needed to form a government. On the other hand, Israel's opposition parties are projected to secure 67 to 70 seats. Netanyahu's main rival, former Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot, has higher support in most polls. (Jin10)
