Morgan Stanley estimates that by 2040, the total number of robots in various forms will reach approximately 2.2 billion units. Assuming each unit is equipped with 500 watts of computing power, the total would amount to about 1.1 terawatts, theoretically all networked via Starlink. Elon Musk previously revealed that the Tesla AI5 chip designed for Optimus has a power consumption of 250 watts, and Morgan Stanley believes this figure will increase over time. This is what Morgan Stanley refers to as the 'distributed inference cloud'—a network composed of fixed and mobile edge nodes, connected to large-scale data center clusters, forming a hybrid computing architecture. Morgan Stanley pointed out that Tesla investors are already familiar with the concept of the 'distributed inference cloud,' as Musk has repeatedly discussed building large-scale distributed computing networks using idle vehicles and Megapods deployed at Supercharger stations. As collaboration between SpaceX and Tesla deepens, SpaceX investors will also need to familiarize themselves with this computing deployment logic. Regarding computing power pricing, Morgan Stanley predicts that the weighted average price of computing power in Q4 2026 will be approximately $31 per watt. However, stress tests indicate that if this price persists through 2027, it could generate approximately $42 billion in incremental revenue, nearly tripling revenue growth. Morgan Stanley also emphasized that the 14th flight of Starship is one of the most significant stock price catalysts since SpaceX's IPO.
