[Deposit Growth Drives South Korea's June Money Supply to Continue Rising]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on August 14, the Bank of Korea released data on Friday showing that South Korea's money supply continued its upward trend in June, driven by the rise in short-term deposits and money market funds. Preliminary statistics from the Bank of Korea indicate that the core indicator measuring money supply, M2, averaged 4,213 trillion won in June (equivalent to $2.97 trillion), a 0.7% increase from the previous month, with an incremental growth of 29.4 trillion won. This indicator has maintained a steady upward trend since November last year. The Bank of Korea stated that short-term deposits and money market funds, which primarily invest in short-term financial products, both saw growth in June.
