[South Korean Lawmaker Criticizes Government's Plan to Tax Virtual Asset Gains, Calls for Immediate Withdrawal]
According to Digital Asset, South Korean People Power Party lawmaker Park Soo-young criticized the government's plan to tax virtual asset gains, calling it a 'tax bomb threat for those who do not invest in the domestic stock market,' and demanded its immediate withdrawal.
Lawmaker Park Soo-young stated on his YouTube channel: 'I hope this punitive tax plan, which puts 13 million digital asset users in jeopardy, will be withdrawn immediately.' He added, 'This does not mean people will invest in domestic stocks; on the contrary, it will only accelerate the outflow of national wealth.'
He cited an example, noting that approximately 124 trillion KRW flowed into overseas digital asset exchanges from January to September last year.
