Total cryptocurrency revenue declined 23% year-over-year to $47 billion. There are two main reasons for the revenue decline: First, financial-related revenue fell below 2024 levels. Revenue from CEXs, derivatives, and market makers dropped by $5.2 billion; on-chain DeFi revenue decreased by $1.8 billion (-32%); ETF and fund management fees fell by $1.1 billion. Second, blockchain-related revenue continued to decline. Staking and mining rewards dropped by $6.2 billion; transaction fees and MEV were halved. Blockchain-related revenue accounted for only 25% of total revenue, marking a historic low.
