[Suspected Private Key Leak Leads to $25 Million Theft, Previously Lost $24 Million in 2023 Due to Phishing Attack]
BlockBeats News, August 13: According to monitoring by ScamSniffer, a cryptocurrency holder allegedly had their private key leaked, resulting in two wallets being emptied within just 15 minutes, with losses amounting to approximately $25 million. The assets from two addresses belonging to the same victim—including DAI, WBTC, aUSDC, LDO, sUSDe, and native ETH—were transferred to a new address.
Within an hour, the stolen funds were converted into DAI and ETH: 20 million DAI was transferred to another address, while approximately 3,000 ETH remained in the consolidated address. This incident is suspected to be caused by a private key leak rather than a typical phishing authorization.
Notably, the victim's address is the same wallet that lost 4,851 rETH and 9,579 stETH (approximately $24 million) in September 2023 due to signing a phishing increaseAllowance transaction. At that time, the attacker eventually returned about 90% of the stolen funds. [Original Link]
