[SK Hynix to Resume Investment in Dalian NAND Flash Production Line, Capacity Expected to Increase by 50%] BlockBeats News, August 11, according to South Korean media *Maeil Business Newspaper*, SK Hynix's NAND subsidiary Solidigm plans to restart the construction of the second-phase factory at its NAND flash production base in Dalian, China. Equipment installation is expected to begin this November, with official production slated for the first half of next year. The Dalian Phase 2 project had previously been stalled for an extended period due to factors such as the sluggish NAND market, inventory adjustments, and U.S. restrictions on semiconductor equipment exports to China. With the expansion of AI data centers driving increased demand for enterprise solid-state drives (eSSD), SK Hynix has decided to resume investment to expand NAND production capacity. The current monthly capacity of the Dalian Phase 1 factory is approximately 100,000 wafers. Upon completion of the Phase 2 project, an additional monthly capacity of about 50,000 wafers is expected, representing an overall capacity increase of approximately 50%. SK Hynix plans to adopt a "dual-track production" strategy, producing mature-process NAND at the Dalian base while concentrating high-end NAND products at its M17 factory in Cheongju, South Korea.
