Strategy CEO: We are now the central bank of Bitcoin. Strategy has grown so big that whether it buys or sells BTC has become a major signal for the entire market. For the first time, Strategy tentatively sold 32 BTC, cashing out about $2.5 million. The amount is almost negligible, but the market reaction far exceeded the transaction itself. Phong Le later specifically explained that they just wanted to test the process of selling BTC and also prepare the market for one thing: Strategy can sell BTC in the future, and selling doesn’t mean they’re bearish on Bitcoin. From June 29 to July 5, Strategy sold 3,588 BTC in one week, cashing out about $216 million; From July 27 to August 2, they sold another 1,638 BTC, cashing out about $105 million; From August 3 to 9, they sold another 1,690 BTC, cashing out about $109 million. So far, they’ve sold close to 7,000 BTC in total.
