The day ChatGPT was launched, I was in the study room working on my assignments.
I couldn’t write a single word because, at that time, I had just made my first bucket of gold in the crypto world. My mind was completely consumed by trading coins—I couldn’t even eat in the cafeteria without scrolling through .
So there I was, half working on my assignments, half scrolling through .
Then I stumbled upon @sama’s tweet announcing ChatGPT. I clicked into the website, threw the title of my paper into the chat box, and when I saw the response it gave me, I was absolutely stunned. It was just me alone in the study room in the middle of the night, staring at my computer screen, yelling “WTF, WTF” over and over.
In my understanding of the world, I didn’t think humans could create something like this.
Back then, GPT-3.5’s responses were relatively short. So I broke my paper into 10 big questions, then broke those into 10 smaller questions, and finally fed each question to GPT-3.5 to generate answers. I pieced all the responses together into a complete paper and submitted it to my teacher.
Then I used the same method to finish all my assignments for the next few weeks in one go.
There’s a saying that hits hard: you can only earn wealth within the limits of your understanding.
The day ChatGPT burst onto the scene, some people saw NVIDIA, some saw SanDisk, some saw Palantir, and others saw Micron and SK Hynix.
But all I saw was the homework I had to finish tomorrow.
