[South Korean Think Tank: Strong Semiconductor Exports Drive Growth, Broader Economic Improvement in South Korea]
BlockBeats News, August 10 – The Korea Development Institute (KDI) stated in its monthly economic assessment report on Monday: 'The South Korean economy is showing broader signs of improvement, driven by the semiconductor-related industries.' KDI added: 'Exports and equipment investment have continued to maintain strong growth under the influence of the semiconductor industry, while durable goods consumption has accelerated the overall consumption growth rate.'
The institute also noted: 'With the service sector maintaining a positive growth trend and the manufacturing sector rebounding, overall industry production has achieved a relatively high growth rate.' However, KDI pointed out that as Asia's fourth-largest economy, South Korea still faces uncertainties, including U.S. tariff policies and ongoing geopolitical instability in the Middle East.
The think tank further emphasized that South Korea is still experiencing high levels of inflation, and worsening employment conditions are posing challenges to the economy. (Jin10)
