XStocks is a meaningful Hyperliquid
Is it the last signal before the stock spot lands on Hyperliquid?
Combined with recent on chain actions, it's hard not to associate this word with others (it's always the bigger the situation, the fewer words)
Starting from July 15th, addresses suspected to be related to Backed/xStocks have spent about 5000 HYPE coins and acquired 10 spot tickets
Corresponding to Nvidia, S&P 500 ETF, NASDAQ 100 ETF, SK Hynix, Micron, SanDisk SpaceX、 Tesla, Apple, and Circle
These tokens have all appeared in Hyperliquid's spot metadata, and related USDC trading pairs have also been registered one after another
NVDAX, SPYX, QQQX, SKHYX, and MUX have been associated with the HyperEVM contract
The remaining few Tickers have not yet filled in the EVM contract address
This means that the underlying structure of the relevant assets and trading pairs has indeed been established
But don't rush to understand it as' xStocks has officially launched Hyperliquid 'for now
As of now, the 24-hour trading volume of these 10 markets is still 0
Only NVDAX's order book has bilateral pending orders, while other markets still have empty order books or only unilateral quotations
There is no official opening announcement, nor is there a specific launch time, liquidity arrangement, and user access rules announced
What does this mean? It's like the mall has already laid out the goods, arranged the registration of the shelves and checkout counter, but the door hasn't opened yet
At this point in time, xStocks only sent one 'Hyperliquid', which seems more like actively telling the market:
The preparations you see on the chain may not be a coincidence
If the market eventually opens, the importance of this matter is not just that Hyperliquid has added 10 more stocks to the Ticker
Because Hyperliquid now has a set of stock markets
TradeXYZ has deployed a large number of stocks, indices, and commodity perpetual contracts through HIP-3, allowing users to trade price fluctuations of Nvidia, Apple, Tesla, gold, crude oil, and Japanese and Korean stocks 24 hours a day
But HIP-3 trades on perpetual contracts
Users gain price exposure and cannot redeem Nvidia stocks with an NVDAX perpetual contract, nor can they transfer this contract as a stock asset to other applications
XStocks may have added another piece of puzzle
It is issued by Backed and backed by corresponding securities assets, packaging stocks or ETFs into tokenized assets that can be held and transferred on the chain
In plain language, it means:
TradeXYZ has brought the "price" of stocks to Hyperliquid, while xStocks may bring the "spot assets" of stocks to Hyperliquid
The two are not interchangeable, but may form a more complete market where users can hold stock tokens and use HIP-3 perpetual contracts for hedging. Market makers can provide liquidity around spot and perpetual prices
If in the future these assets can be invoked by lending, collateralization, and structured products on HyperEVM, they may also become underlying assets for other on chain financial applications
Of course, these are all what we hope to see
Moreover, "1:1 asset support" does not mean that users directly become registered shareholders of the corresponding listed company
What rights do token holders ultimately have, whether they can be redeemed, and which regions are open to, still depend on the issuer's legal structure, custody arrangements, and compliance restrictions
This is the last kilometer left before the official opening of the market
In addition to liquidity and market making, xStocks also needs to handle issues such as user access, trading hours, corporate actions, dividends, stock splits, suspensions, and underlying asset custody in different regions
The pricing and liquidity arrangements for non listed assets such as SpaceX will also be more complex than those for ordinary US stocks
So the tweet with only one word is still worth paying attention to
At least what can be confirmed from the chain is:
10 xStocks related tickets have been registered, and trading pairs and some EVM contracts are ready for completion
However, what cannot be confirmed on the chain temporarily is:
When will they officially open, who will provide liquidity, and what specific cooperation structure will be used between xStocks and Hyperliquid
But if these 10 markets eventually open up, Hyperliquid's product structure will undergo an interesting change
It will have both native encrypted spot and perpetual, HIP-3 global asset perpetual, and tokenized stock spot backed by securities assets
Previously, Hyperliquid mainly focused on whether the price of any asset could be traded on the chain?
The new issue that xStocks may bring is: can these assets themselves be directly held, transferred, and combined on Hyperliquid?
HIP-3 makes Hyperliquid increasingly like a global perpetual exchange
The addition of spot stocks may bring it closer to another form:
An on chain brokerage that simultaneously accommodates cryptocurrency assets, stock spot, and global derivatives
If it's really as we imagine, then xStocks fills the gap in Hyperliquid's spot market
The competition on the RWA track may really be about to begin
