According to The Energy Mag, Bitcoin mining company MARA completed two loans on August 4 with Coinbase Credit and Two Prime Lending, using 18,750 BTC as collateral. The collateral was valued at approximately $1.2 billion at the time, securing around $600 million in new funding. The total principal of the two loans is $750 million, with Coinbase providing a $450 million loan that includes refinancing of an existing $150 million credit line, resulting in $300 million in actual new funding. Two Prime provided an additional $300 million loan. The current interest rate on the Coinbase loan is about 7.5%, while Two Prime's fixed rate is 7.65%. Both loans are set to mature in 2028. MARA stated that the funds will be used for general corporate purposes, including energy asset acquisitions, Bitcoin mining, AI, and high-performance computing infrastructure expansion.
