Starting from the 2025 tax year, the IRS will require brokers to send investors Form 1099-DA, detailing their total digital asset gains. Accountants state that determining taxes involving digital asset transactions has historically been an extremely complex task, often far more challenging than calculating taxes for traditional financial assets like stocks and bonds.
