[EU Plans to Revise MiCA Framework, Focusing on Access Rules for Non-EU Stablecoin Issuers] (According to Bitcoin.com News) The European Union has decided to revise the MiCA framework to address the issue of non-EU stablecoin issuers, such as Tether, being excluded from the EU market. The introduction of the U.S. GENIUS Act and the Trump administration's active promotion of stablecoins have also accelerated this decision. Patrick Hansen, Circle's EU policy lead, previously warned that the current MiCA framework has significant regulatory gaps, leaving European users "either unprotected or disconnected." Additionally, the EU is considering incorporating emerging technologies such as tokenized payments and deposits into the revisions. An EU diplomat stated that "revisiting the document at this stage has become inevitable," noting that the MiCA framework, approved in May 2023, has many provisions that are already outdated compared to the realities of industry development.
