Kathy Hochul's husband was a lawyer and SVP for Delaware North. A hospitality company that manages hotels and casinos. Her campaigns took money from DraftKings, FanDuel, the Genting Group, Jeff Gural (casino and race track owner), and entities associated with the Las Vegas Sands group. In 2022, she was accused of rigging NY gambling licenses in favor of firms that donated to her. When Vornado’s Steven Roth donated to her, he was lobbying for a casino in New York City. An idea that Hochul supported. So why is she attacking an onshore, federally regulated entity, and ignoring it's offshore competitor? It's not because its part of a 'gambling industry she is against' It's because she is an attack dog for the gambling industry. The faux outrage, and audacity to claim you "protecting people" while being in bed with casinos is audacious. If Hochul thinks we should ban market positions on events - then surely we should ban all exploitative gambling, right? But when she shouts about "regulating exploitative industries" what she means is "Pay me my pound of flesh."
