Agriculture is a business, and we must continue to build the support system that helps our farmers succeed. At Denbigh, I had a meaningful discussion with the team from NCB about financing for the agricultural sector and the importance of making it easier for farmers to access the resources they need to grow. One of the biggest challenges is ensuring that farmers have the information and records needed to access financing. When a farm is managed like a business, it creates more opportunities for growth and investment. As we strengthen agriculture, we must also strengthen the systems around it so that our farmers can continue to produce, expand their operations and contribute even more to Jamaica’s development.(Andrew Holness)
