US JOBS DATA COULD MAKE OR BREAK SEPTEMBER FED HIKE
Bond traders are bracing for Friday’s US jobs report as markets price more than a 50% chance of a September Fed rate hike.
Economists expect around 80,000 jobs were added in July.
A strong report, particularly higher wage pressure, could boost rate-hike expectations and Treasury yields.
Weak employment data could reduce those bets.
Next week’s US inflation figures will provide another crucial signal for the Fed’s next move.(*Walter Bloomberg)
