[Trump Says Hormuz Strait Agreement Not Yet Reached, Talks Ongoing]
According to a report by Cailian Press, U.S. President Trump stated on August 6 local time that the agreement on reopening the Hormuz Strait "cannot yet be said to have been officially reached," but the strait is currently "to some extent already open." The U.S. is participating in related negotiations, and overall progress is positive. Trump mentioned that the U.S. Navy is currently enforcing a blockade against Iran and controlling the relevant waters, but safety risks such as mines may still affect the passage of commercial vessels. He noted that he is personally involved in the negotiations and believes the situation is moving in a positive direction.
