Let's talk about the EIP-8361 proposal submitted by Ethereum France (which is also the organizer of ETHCC and one of the more internal organizations of Ethereum). In fact, this proposal is to significantly reduce the APR of ETH staking. If the pledge rate exceeds 50%, it will directly cut the yield to 0. My evaluation: A meaningless "counterproductive" proposal. As is well known, if a system can operate normally, do not easily touch it. Ethereum is also like this now. Actually, I have been doing Ethereum staking for so long, and I have a say. According to Ebunker, ETH Staking is only 2.4% now, and its competitiveness is even less than half of the US treasury bond. For an Ethereum retail investor, the benefits of solo staking will be able to offset costs or even result in small losses, with very meager profits. All die hard fans are running Solo Staking. Once EIP-8361 is truly launched, the solo walker will directly enter the kill line. Instead of being a fixer for institutions, as the number of institutions is larger and the cost of servers is fixed. For protocols like Ethereum, Solo Stakers are crucial as they represent the decentralization of the Ethereum ledger. As for Chairman Tychey's concern about the Churn rate, there is even less need to worry On the one hand, after the era of large nodes (2048 ether), there has been some improvement; On the other hand, to modify this churn rate, all you need to do is touch your finger and change a parameter without any risk. And to significantly reduce the yield of Ethereum, this also requires a hard fork to achieve, as it involves the core interests of ETH and may even bring new tokens. This is too risky for the current volatile Ethereum, comparable to childbirth. This proposal is meaningless.
