Sui's CTO got poached by Anthropic. This year, it seems like the top-tier talent in crypto is gradually shifting towards AI. It also shows that Sui's team setup is still top-notch, and their technical infrastructure is really solid. But unfortunately, their execution on real-world applications has been somewhat underwhelming. Maybe it's the organizational inertia of big companies, stuck in the awkward situation where the product is ready, but rolling it out is challenging. DeFi still seems to be the best fit and has brought a wave of prosperity. The demand in web3 has always revolved around asset issuance, asset trading, and leveraging. A lot of these needs develop from the ground up, but by the time the market is ready, the landscape might already look completely different.
