[Apple's Price Suppression Strategy Fails, ChangXin Memory Rejects Price Cut Request]
According to a report by Korean IT media outlet *Digital Daily*, cited by Gelonghui, Apple recently engaged in price negotiations with ChangXin Memory regarding the supply of LPDDR5X and other mobile DRAMs, aiming to reduce manufacturing costs for the next-generation iPhone and smart devices. However, the price cut request was reportedly rejected. ChangXin insisted on pricing no lower than that of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, indicating that bargaining power in the DRAM market is shifting from end-product manufacturers to memory suppliers.
ChangXin Memory's confidence in directly rejecting Apple's request stems from long-term high-price contracts secured with Chinese manufacturers like Huawei and Xiaomi, which have locked in ChangXin's production capacity, eliminating the need to lower prices to compete for Apple's orders.
