According to Yahoo Finance, Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) announced that starting October 2026, virtual asset service providers (VASPs) in Taiwan will be required to implement the Travel Rule when transferring virtual assets. For single transfers exceeding NT$30,000, the sender must not only provide basic transaction information but also additional details such as the customer's date of birth and residential address to enable the recipient to verify identity. This measure will be rolled out in phases—starting this October, priority will be given to transfers between VASPs within the region, while transfers involving VASPs at other addresses are expected to be implemented by the end of 2027. If businesses fail to incorporate the relevant processes into their internal control systems or do not comply with data transmission requirements, they may face fines ranging from NT$500,000 to NT$10 million under anti-money laundering laws.
