[Japan Financial Services Agency Establishes New 'Crypto Assets and Stablecoins Division,' Effective August 7]
Foresight News reports, citing Nadal News, that the Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA) has announced the establishment of a new 'Crypto Assets and Stablecoins Division,' dedicated to handling matters related to crypto assets and stablecoins. This organizational restructuring will take effect on August 7. Previously, cryptocurrency-related operations were managed by the 'Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, and Innovation Consultation Office' and the 'Cryptocurrency Monitoring Office,' both of which are part of the Risk Analysis Division under the Policy and Markets Bureau. Following the reorganization, the newly established Asset Management and Insurance Supervision Bureau will include the 'Crypto Assets and Stablecoins Division.' From an organizational perspective, this effectively elevates the crypto assets division from being centered around offices and consultation offices to an independent 'division.'
