[Sei Mainnet Completes v6.6 Upgrade, Two Major Upgrades in the Giga Plan Officially Launched]
Foresight News reports that Sei has announced the completion of the v6.6 upgrade for its mainnet. The upgrade is described as the largest version upgrade since Sei added EVM support in May 2024, marking a significant milestone in two years. Out of the three major upgrades in the Giga Plan, two have officially been launched. Specifically, the 'Ares Upgrade' has been initiated, with the gradual deprecation of the v2 executor; the 'Eidos Upgrade' has also been launched simultaneously, achieving the separation of two years' worth of on-chain states and migrating EVM historical data to an independent database, no longer sharing it with the Cosmos state.
Additionally, this upgrade addresses over 30 issues and optimizes node synchronization efficiency, consensus timeout parameters, error-prone configuration items, and data pruning mechanisms. It also improves developer-related functionalities such as receipt generation, JSON-RPC error handling, and historical call tracking.
