Completely fell apart. Apple has officially filed a preliminary injunction with the federal court to prohibit two former employees and OpenAI from obtaining, using, or disclosing Apple's illegally acquired trade secrets. Previously, in addition to suing OpenAI, Apple also filed lawsuits against former Apple VP Don Tan, former Apple engineer Liu Chang, and current Apple employee Peng Yuting. They are accused of using various methods to obtain internal confidential information from Apple and then providing it to OpenAI to help OpenAI enter the consumer hardware market. Some of these individuals directly jumped ship to work at OpenAI. The hearing is currently scheduled for October 1 this year, and both sides are expected to reveal more evidence and details before then.
