[Goldman Sachs: AI Adoption Rate Among Enterprises Rises to 21.5%, Data Center Construction Jobs Increase by 290,000]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports, according to Tide Research, Goldman Sachs' July AI adoption tracking report shows that the AI adoption rate among U.S. enterprises has risen to 21.5%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points from the previous month, and is expected to reach 24.3% in six months. Gallup surveys indicate that 47% of U.S. employees report their organizations have adopted AI, up from 41% in the previous quarter. Semiconductor revenue is projected to reach $834 billion by the end of 2026, with AI-related hardware investments exceeding the 2022 level of $463 billion, accounting for 1.4% of GDP. Data center-related construction jobs have increased by 290,000 since 2022, with an average monthly addition of approximately 14,000 jobs. In the first half of the year, layoffs attributed to AI totaled 102,000.
Goldman Sachs believes AI is transitioning from proof-of-concept to actual deployment, with economic penetration accelerating, though labor force impacts remain concentrated in specific industries. Academic research shows AI boosts productivity by an average of 23%, and industries with higher adoption rates are already showing signs of accelerated productivity growth. Goldman Sachs' assessment is that AI is reshaping the economic structure, and the market may be underestimating the depth of AI's integration into the economic system.
