Apple gave a reason for the removal of the Telegram app. To be honest, this reads like a warning shot to Telegram, Pavel Durov, et al., what likely happened here is this is a threat to Telegram that if they don't play by Apple's rules they can be removed at any time. Educated speculation is that we see Telegram/Pavel have been being pressured into compromising Telegram for a while now (based on their own communications), so this was probably the next step in the escalation ladder in the private battle we as the public are publicly witnessing. In tech historically we've seen CSAM abuse be used as a guise to mount pressure against companies, this could potentially be the case here as well. Removing an entire app from the store is an extreme measure, so there's highly probably a much larger battle playing out behind the scenes. All speculation, not statement of fact.(Autism Capital 🧩)
